Claiming your venue or host profile

Take control of your listing so you can manage your venue or host profile directly.

If you run a venue that hosts karaoke, or you are a karaoke host (KJ), you can claim your listing on KaraokeCrowd. Claiming gives you management tools and lets eligible edits go live immediately, without waiting for review.

This guide covers how to claim, what the roles mean, and what you can do afterward.

Who should claim

  • Venue operators. You own or manage a bar, restaurant, or club that runs karaoke nights.
  • Karaoke hosts (KJs). You run karaoke shows at one or more venues and have a host profile on the site.

If someone else already listed your venue or host profile, that is fine. The listing exists to help singers find karaoke. Claiming it simply gives you control.

How to claim a venue

  1. Find your venue on KaraokeCrowd. You can search from the home page or browse the venues list.

  2. Open the venue page and click Claim this venue.

  3. Fill out the claim form:

    • Business name. The legal or operating name of your business. If you run multiple venues under the same business, use the same name for each claim so they get grouped together.
    • Your role. Choose Owner or Manager. See below for what each role can do.
    • Verification notes. Tell us how we can verify that you represent the venue. A link to your venue website, your business email, a social media account, or any other evidence that connects you to the venue.
    • Verification image (optional). You can attach a photo that shows your connection to the venue. A photo of your business license, a sign with the venue name, or similar.
  4. Submit the form. A directory moderator reviews your claim, typically within a day or two.

How to claim a host profile

  1. Find your host profile on KaraokeCrowd. Browse the hosts list or search for your name.
  2. Open the host page and click Claim this host profile.
  3. Fill out the claim form with your name, how you can be verified, and an optional verification image.
  4. Submit. A directory moderator reviews the claim.

What happens after you claim

Once a directory moderator approves your claim:

  • You get access to the manage panel for your venue or host profile.
  • Your edits to that listing can go live immediately when the auto-approval rules allow it.
  • For claimed venues, you can review and approve submissions from other contributors for that venue.

Owner vs. Manager

When you claim a venue, you choose a role. Here is what each can do.

Owner

  • Edit the venue data (name, address, hours, etc.)
  • Review and approve submissions from other contributors
  • Add and remove managers
  • Edit the business profile (shared across all venues in the same business)

Manager

  • Edit the venue data (name, address, hours, etc.)
  • Review and approve submissions from other contributors
  • Cannot add or remove other managers
  • Cannot edit the business profile

Choose Owner if you own or operate the business, or if you are the primary decision-maker for the venue. Choose Manager if you help maintain the listing but should not control business-level settings.

Business entities

If you operate multiple venues (a chain, a group of bars, etc.), you can group them under one business. When you claim multiple venues with the same business name, they get linked together automatically. The business profile gives you a shared space for information that applies to all your venues (business description, logo, contact info).

Auto-approve for claimed entities

Normally, edits from community contributors go through a review process before they go live. When you have claimed a venue or host profile, routine edits to that listing can skip the review queue and appear immediately. This applies to:

  • Editing venue details (address, phone, hours)
  • Editing host profile information
  • Adding or editing recurring karaoke nights

You still follow normal submission rules for anything outside your claimed entities.

Questions?

If you run into trouble claiming your listing, or you need a role changed from Manager to Owner (or the other way around), use the feedback form and we will sort it out.
