Use what the host or venue says, then pick the schedule shape that generates exactly those dates.

Start from the source

Enter the schedule the way the host or venue actually describes it. If the rule is exact, KaraokeCrowd can generate dated events. If the dates float, keep the weekday hint and add each confirmed date by hand.

Weekly

Use this when the source says the night runs every week on the same weekday. Source wording: every Friday. This generates every Friday.

Weekly, skipping some weeks

Use this when the source starts with a weekly rule and names weeks that do not run. Source wording: every Friday except the last Friday of the month. Pick Friday, then skip last. "Last" means the real last Friday: the 4th in a four-Friday month, the 5th in a five-Friday month.

If the source says "except the 5th Friday," skip 5th instead. That only removes the rare fifth Friday; four-Friday months still generate all four dates.

Every other week

Use this when the source gives a two-week rhythm. Source wording: every other Thursday, starting 6 March. Pick Thursday and the next known occurrence date. Without that date, the series can be reviewed, but event dates stay pending because we do not know which week is "on."

Monthly (by weekday)

Use this when the source names weekday occurrences inside the month. Source wording: the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. Pick Saturday, then 1st and 3rd.

For "last Friday of the month," pick Friday and last. That generates one date every month: the 4th Friday in some months and the 5th Friday in others.

For "5th Friday," pick Friday and 5th. That generates only in months that actually have a fifth Friday.

If the source says "every Friday except the last Friday," use Weekly, skipping some weeks, not Monthly by weekday.

Irregular

Use this when the source confirms the series but the dates are not computable. Source wording: one Friday a month, dates vary. Pick Irregular, keep Friday selected if the source gives that hint, and add a short note like "one Friday a month; dates announced on Instagram." KaraokeCrowd keeps it as a series but does not auto-generate events. Confirmed dates are added manually from the Manage events page or suggested from the public karaoke page.
